Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar on 6 September announced the launch of protests by the party across the districts of Hyderabad and Rangareddy against the state government's "negligence" in making necessary arrangements for Ganesha immersion.
The BJP MP said that the party would organise protests on a large scale against the Telangana Rashtra Samithy government's "casual and negligent attitude" in arrangements for Ganesh immersion across all assembly segments in the Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts from 11 AM to 12 noon that day, he announced.
Bandi said it was shameful on the part of the KCR government to insult Hindus by not making necessary arrangements for Ganesha Nimarjana Utsav. Alleging that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was not so so serious about Hindu festivals, he questioned the chief minister's reasons for not responding on making arrangements for the past three days.
Deploring the arrests of leaders of the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti for requesting arrangements for a peaceful conduct of Ganesha immersion, Bandi asked, "Where should Hindus conduct Ganesh Nimarjanam other than in Vinayaka Sagar?"
Bandi demanded Chief Minister Rao to respond immediately and make necessary arrangements for the peaceful conduct of the Ganesh immersion at Vinayaka Sagar. He warned him not to take the patience of Hindus for granted. "Hindus knew what to do if the government fails to make arrangements (for Ganesh Nimarjanam)," he added.
