New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president turned 54 on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP leaders and several chief ministers joined the queue to wish him on his birthday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday greeted BJP chief Amit Shah on his birthday, saying his rigour and hard work are great assets for the party.
“Under Amit bhai’s leadership, the party has expanded significantly across India. His rigour and hard work are great assets for the party,” the PM tweeted.

The prime minister also wished Shah a long and healthy life.
Along with the PM, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley also wished him on Monday.

Amit Anilchandra Shah, born 22 October 1964 is an Indian politician who is currently serving as President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and as a member of the Rajya Sabha.
Shah was elected as an MLA from Sarkhej in four consecutive elections: 1997 (by-election), 1998, 2002 and 2007. He is a close associate of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and held a number of portfolios in the State government during Modi’s tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat. He was MLA from Naranpura, elected in the 2012 elections.
Shah was the BJP’s in-charge for India’s largest and politically most crucial State, Uttar Pradesh, during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. The BJP and its allies swept the entire State, registering their best ever performance, by winning 73 out of 80 seats. As a result, Shah rose to national prominence and was appointed as the party’s national president in July 2014.
Under his leadership, the BJP achieved success in Legislative Assembly elections in Maharashtra, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand and Assam in 2016. In 2017, he led the party towards a landslide victory in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat and marked the party’s strong debut in Manipur.
Meanwhile, Union AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik greeted BJP president Amit Shah Monday on his birthday, describing him as “today’s Chanakya”. Naik, the BJP Member of Parliament from North Goa, took to Twitter to wish Shah.
“Birthday wishes to today’s Chanakya Shri @AmitShahji who is successfully leading the `Vijay Rath’ of our PradhanSevak,” he said.
Shah’s commitment to ideology and his personal connection with party workers make him stand out, Naik added.
