Bollywood buffs were taken aback and concerned when rumours circulating speculated that Kajol and her daughter Nysa tested positive for the coronavirus. However, the hearsay was put to rest by Ajay Devgn who turned to his social media, refuting the false reports and reassuring fans about the health of his wife and daughter.
“Thank you for asking. Kajol & Nysa are absolutely fine. The rumour around their health is unfounded, untrue & baseless,” he tweeted.
Some reports claimed that Kajol had also tested positive for Covid-19. Ajay rubbished the rumour calling it “untrue and baseless” and cleared the air on Twitter.
Recently, Nysa had returned to India from Singapore after her school shut amid the novel coronavirus pandemic. The 14-year-old star kid was spotted with her mom Kajol at the airport in Mumbai on 20 March.
A report published on a news website on 28 March, stated that Nysa has been down with a fever and that Kajol had taken her to the hospital. The report further claimed that Nysa also showed other Covid-19 symptoms like cough, cold, sore throat and pneumonia.
However, the doctor told them it was just a normal fever and prescribed medicines for the same, the report added.
As it turns out, all such reports were false, and Nysa is healthy and hearty at home.
Meanwhile, Kajol is keeping herself busy by sharing quarantine updates with her Insta fam. Recently, she posted a selfie in which the actress shared her look for the ninth day of the self-quarantine phase.
“Day 9 of quarantine and it’s a wonder how much better a stick of lipstick and a wash of mascara make u feel! #lipit #smilemore #takeadeepbreath #shakeitup,” Kajol wrote.
Kajol also shared a video with her 9-year-old son Yug about a week ago on the platform, in which she urged citizens to stay indoors in the current situation.
Ajay Devgn is one of Bollywood’s most bankable heroes. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, Devgn postponed the release of his cop drama Sooryavanshi, directed by Rohit Shetty.
In Bollywood, singer Kanika Kapoor is believed to be the first public figure from the Hindi film industry who contracted the Covid-19 disease. She’s currently recuperating.
