Mumbai: Actor Faissal Khan, the brother of superstar Aamir Khan, is set to make his directorial debut with action-thriller Factory.
Faissal has previously served as an assistant director on films such as Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander with Mansoor Khan, and Tum Mere Ho with his late father Tahir Hussain.
The 53-year-old actor will also star in the film.
“My mother always kept telling me that I’ll do well as a director and I am sure she will be pleasantly surprised with my decision,” Faissal said in a statement.
The actor, best known for featuring alongside Aamir in 2000’s Mela, said he is excited for “Factory” as he has been involved with the project right from the scripting stage.
Meanwhile, Ira Khan, daughter of Aamir Khan, had suddenly grabbed the headlines of social media in March this year. This happened after Ira and a boy called Mishal had shared some pictures of their togetherness on Instagram.
In those pictures, Ira was seen with a boy, and the images suggested him to be her boyfriend. The boy’s name is Mishal Kripalani.
The photographs tell a story of proximity between the two. Instagram users have been asking Ira about the boy. With the pictures, Ira had written, “Hope your Spring Break was sunny and smiley as @mishaalkirpalani’s, which of course, I piled onto.”
Ira’s fans kept on asking if Mishal is her boyfriend. Some were issuing sermons to Aamir Khan’s daughter.
Going by Mishal’s Instagram profile, he seems to be fond of music. Mishal has introduces himself as an “artist, producer, composer” in his Instagram bio-data.
Aamir and Faisal have had a chequered relationship. They were estranged brothers at one point of time after doing a few films together. Faisal had subsequently reported ill-treatment by Aamir while the less successful sibling also has had psychological issues.
In 2007, Khan was reported missing for two days. He had filed a report to the police several days earlier accusing his brother Aamir of keeping him confined in his home because he was mentally ill. He was eventually traced to Pune and brought back to Mumbai where he went through a medical examination. He was eventually diagnosed with a mental disorder, and his brother Aamir and his father were in a custody battle over Faisal that garnered much press coverage. Faisal’s custody was awarded to his father, Tahir.
