New Delhi: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley launched his ministry’s YouTube channel on 9 February. Speaking on the occasion, he said there were a lot of announcements and explanations from time to time by the ministry with regard to the country’s economy, which is continuously debated in public. He said that there was, therefore, a need for a platform where this entire material was made available.
Jaitley further said though most of the activities were in the public domain, it should be made easier for the world outside to know about the same. This YouTube channel would be a useful platform, the minister added. Jaitley appreciated this initiative of the Press Relations & Information Wing of the Ministry.
This YouTube channel will disseminate information of the Finance Ministry through videos. The channel will feature videos on the major schemes, events, meetings, press conferences and other exclusive videos relating to the ministry. The YouTube channel is expected to strengthen the online presence of the ministry and engage audiences. Finance secretary Ratan P Watal, secretary at the Department of Economic Affairs Shaktikanta Das and revenue secretary Hasmukh Adhia were present on the occasion, too.
