41 IPS officers in UP get new year promotions

Of these IPS officers, 14 are currently on central deputation; they will get the benefit of promotion on return to the original UP cadre

The Uttar Pradesh government of Yogi Adityanath has gifted 41 IPS officers with promotions on the new year. They include the state’s ADG Law and Order PV Ramasastri. Of these IPS officers, 14 are currently on central deputation. They will get the benefit of promotion on return to the original cadre.

Officers promoted to the posts of DG and ADG will be given deployment subject to vacancies. At present, there is no vacancy in these posts.

The Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Rajendra Tiwari recommended the promotions. Additional Chief Secretary Home Avneesh Awasthi said that among the police officers whose promotions had been recommended,

  • nine IPS officers of 1988, 1989 and 1990 batches have been promoted from the rank of ADG to DG
  • nine 1995 batch IPS officers have been promoted from IG to ADG level
  • 10 officers of the 2002 batch have been promoted from DIG to IG level and
  • 13 IPS of the 2006 batch had been promoted from the position of SSP to the post of DIG

These officers have been made ADGs:

  • 1988 batch IPS officers
    1. Kamal Saxena in UP Power Corporation is now ADG
    2. Vijay Kumar from Traffic is now ADG
    3. Brij Raj Meena from ATC is now ADG
  • 1989 batch officers
    1. Ashish Gupta
    2. Aditya Mishra
    3. Chandra Prakash
    4. PV Ramasastri from law and order and
  • 1990 batch officers
    1. Sandeep Salunke
    2. Daljit Choudhary

Among these, Ashish Gupta, Aditya Mishra and Daljit Chaudhary are on central deputation.

IPS officers from the 1995 batch have been promoted too. They include

  1. IG Alok Singh of Meerut Range
  2. Ashok Kumar Singh, IG Cybercrime
  3. Ravi Joseph posted in security and
  4. Ram Kumar posted in PAC

Officers posted on central deputation of the same batch have been promoted as well. They include

  1. Vijay Bhatia
  2. Mutha Ashok Jain
  3. Amarendra Singh Sengar
  4. Raj Kumar and
  5. Anupam Kulshrestha

10 officers of 2002 batch have been promoted. These include

  1. DIG CBCID Dharamveer
  2. DIG PAC Anil Kumar Rai
  3. DIG Prayagraj Kavindra Pratap Singh
  4. DIG Jhansi Subhash Singh Baghel
  5. DIG Mirzapur Piyush Srivastava
  6. DIG Law and Order Vijay Bhushan
  7. DIG ATC Satyendra Kumar Singh and
  8. DIG Intelligence JK Shukla

Shachi Ghadiyal and Aparna Kumar are on central deputation.

Four officers of the 2006 batch have been promoted to DIG from SSP. These include

  1. Akash Kulhari, SSP of Aligarh
  2. Shalabh Mathur, SSP of Mathura
  3. SSP Anant Dev of Kanpur Nagar and
  4. SP LR Kumar of Sitapur

They will become DIGs after the notification is issued. Other police officers of the same batch include

  1. Commandant Dr Manoj Kumar posted in the PAC 11th Battalion
  2. SP Ashok Kumar Pandey posted in CBCID
  3. SP Intelligence Ganganath Tripathi
  4. SP Power Corporation Sadhana Goswami and
  5. SP Business Tax Shiv Prasad Upadhyay

Also to become DIG are

  1. Happy Guptan
  2. Dharamvir Singh
  3. Abdul Hameed and
  4. Mohit Gupta

Ten officers of the 2007 batch will get selection grade. These include

  1. SSP Amit Pathak of Moradabad
  2. SP ATS Vinod Kumar Singh
  3. SP Railway Jogendra Kumar
  4. Ravi Shankar Chitra posted in Women Power Line
  5. Pratibha Ambedkar posted in Home Guard
  6. Nitin Tiwari posted in PAC Meerut
  7. Gopesh Nath Khanna posted in DGP Office
  8. SP Jaunpur Ashok Kumar III and
  9. SP SCRB Anil Kumar Rai

The envelope of five IPS officers remains closed. They are

  1. IG Amitabh Thakur
  2. DIG Rakesh Shankar
  3. Ratan Kant Pandey
  4. SP Rajesh Krishna
  5. Pankaj Kumar

They are under investigation in separate cases.
