New Delhi: Challenging the recent survey by ABP-CSDS, which had put the BJP and Congress on an equal footing in the Gujarat Assembly election, today another Hindi news channel News Nation has predicted a win for the BJP with a margin even greater than that of 2012.

“This poll survey is based on the inputs of our wide network of reporters who had covered almost all of the 182 assembly constituencies in Gujarat,” the channel says. News Nation claims it to be a “ground zero report”, adding thatt its “team has gauged the mood of the electorates in Gujarat”.

As per the new poll survey in Gujarat, the BJP is likely to form government in Gujarat. In the final tally, the channel says, the BJP will win 131-141 seats. It has 136 members in the current Vidhan Sabha. The Congress will end up with a dismal show of 37-47 seats, according to the poll. It has 42 MLAs at present. Others will get 2-6 seats, the survey says.

In terms of vote share, the survey says the BJP will get 49% of the votes while the Congress will get 37%. Others will get 14%, the poll predicts.Region-wise, the survey says, the Kutch-Saurashtra stretch will see the BJP getting 45 seats out of a total of 54. The Congress will get 8 from the region while the NCP will end up with 1. This area will, the survey forecasts, deal the biggest blow to the Congress, given that anti-incumbency is believed to be the strongest here.

In southern Gujarat, out of a total of 35 seats, the poll predicts, the share will be BJP – 25, Congress – 9 and BTP – 1. The BTP stands for Bharatiya Tribal Party set up by Chhotubhai Vasoya, the former JD(U) leader who supports the Sharad Yadav faction.Northern Gujarat will witness the BJP getting 43 seats and Congress getting 10 out of 53 seats in the region.

Central Gujarat’s 40 seats will be divided between the BJP’s 23, Congress’s 15, NCP’s 1 and BTP’s 1 according to News Nation.
