India Kerala BJP slams CPM govt for refusing NIA probe into ‘love jihad’ By Arun Lakshman - 7 October 2017 0 158 Share WhatsApp Facebook Twitter Google+ Linkedin Pinterest Thiruvananthapuram – The Kerala unit president of the BJP, Kummanam Rajashekharan, slammed the State government for its affidavit to the Supreme Court today that there was no NIA investigation required in the case relating to the conversion of homoeopathy doctor Akhila into Hadiya and then marrying a Muslim Shafin Jahan, which had been annulled by the Kerala High Court. The BJP president, while addressing a mammoth rally in Vadakara of the Kozhikode district, said that the State government was playing second fiddle to the Islamists and their nefarious designs by preventing an NIA investigation into this issue which has disturbed the Kerala society.Rajashekharan said it was the responsibility of the State government to explain to the people why the NIA investigation was being prevented. The boy Shafin Jahan, who has married Akhila after converting her to Islam, is an antisocial element accused in several criminal cases, the BJP leader alleged. The BJP leader said that Islamic terrorism was being given milk and honey to grow by both the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front and the Indian National Congress-led United Democratic front and these political outfits were responsible for this state of affairs in Kerala. As CPI(M) could not, Rajashekharan said, fight with the BJP on its own, it was attempting an alliance with the Congress. The statements of the senior leaders of the CPI(M), including that of its State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, were clear indicators towards the ‘nexus’. He also ridiculed the statement of CPI(M) State secretary that there would not be any BJP wherever the CPI(M) was in strength and added that the Janaraksha Yatra in itself showed how strong the BJP was in Kerala. He, however, said that wherever BJP was in strength, there was no CPI(M) pointing at the sad state of affairs of that party in all States except Kerala and Tripura. Rajashekharan also said that the presence of thousands of people braving heavy rains was a clear pointer to the CPI(M) and Congress as to which direction the wind was blowing.Earlier, BJP national executive member Adv PS Sreedharan Pillai and Kozhikode district president Jayachandran had received the yatra in Vadakara.
